Uniforms › Deep South Jacket in Jean Cloth

Deep South Jacket in Jean Cloth

$270.00

This is another version of the “Deep South Jacket “we already have that is made in variated vegetable dyed in a brown color. This jacket based off the one pictured in “ECHOES OF GLORY “ on page 141which is believed to have been made by the depot at Mobile Alabama, features a cotton lining with one outside pocket, wood buttons and hand finishing as well as hand sewn buttonholes.
This new material looks very close to what is pictured in “ECHOES OF GLORY", whereas the brown vegetable dyed version may look more similar to the jacket the day it was issued before the sunlight faded it. Both are accurate reproductions which will well serve the Living Historian of the Gulf coast states and the Army of Tennesse well. This has always been one of my favorite jackets from the war.
(The last photo is the original Jacket, from page 141 of the book “ECHOES OF GLORY ARMS AND EQUIPMENT OF THE CONFEDERACY” courtesy of TIME LIFE BOOKS).
